Athens State University’s Rho Gamma Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society recently held an initiation ceremony to honor its newest members. Co-counselors, Dr. Letitia Bergantz and Dr. Marla Williams, host the bi-annual initiation during the fall and spring semesters.

The society inducts only those individuals who have exhibited the ideals of scholarship, integrity in service, and commitment to excellence in teaching and its allied professions. Selection as a member of Kappa Delta Pi is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession. Eligible members maintain at least a 3.5 overall GPA and a 3.0 institutional GPA. Candidates must have also completed at least 20 course hours at Athens State.

This year, 34 new members were inducted during the Fall 2017 semester, and an additional 18 members were inducted this spring. During the Spring 2018 ceremony, the chapter counselors also recognized Dr. Cathy Woodruff, Dr. Kevin Dupree, and Dr. Johnnie Lundin for their service to the Rho Gamma Chapter.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
