Dr. Dale Callahan will address Athens State’s American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Student Branch on April 24 at 6:00 pm. He will be sharing “Ten Steps to Guaranteed Job Offers in Technology.”
Dr. Callahan is the Associate Dean for Professional Programs and Industry Relations for the School of Engineering at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science and MBA from Auburn University, a Master of Science in electrical engineering from UAB, and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama. He is also licensed as a professional engineer (PE) in the state of Alabama.
In his role at UAB, Dr. Callahan provides guidance to the Master of Engineering program and is the school’s primary liaison with industry partners. He also marshals the strengths of individual MEng tracks to find ways to improve the overall program. “All of our tracks have had great success over the years, and the new tracks that have come online in the past couple of years have great potential,” Callahan says. “I will work with the directors to leverage resources so they can continue to grow.”
Additionally, Callahan works with current and potential industry partners. Some of these partnerships produce new revenue streams for the school, but more importantly, they can create opportunities for students while increasing the school’s visibility in the workforce.
Dr. Callahan’s seminar will take place in Classroom Building room 204. The event is free and open to the public. To RSVP, please email AIAA faculty advisor, Dr. Wayne McCain at Wayne.McCain@athens.edu.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
