Latasha Davis Selected for IMA Leadership Experience Program[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Latasha Davis, accounting student at Athens State University, is one of eight outstanding college students selected this year for the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Leadership Experience program. The program is designed to expose top students to governance and leadership in order to sharpen their skills for future career success.
At the event, held in San Diego, California, Davis and fellow participants heard a speech from Clark Jones, VP of revenue management and analytics at The Walt Disney Company, and had the opportunity to sit in on select IMA Board committee meetings. The participants of the program also helped choose the winner of the Ethics Case Writing Competition and made suggestions as to how management accounting could be better promoted while also increasing the presence of the IMA and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification across college campuses.
On her experience, Davis was quoted as stating, “Being able to network with business professionals has inspired me to continue my path to become an accounting professional and to spread the word about IMA and someday become a member of the Global Board of Directors. Everyone made us feel welcome and made sure that we all got the most out of our experience. I am so thankful to have been chosen for this experience and for making new friends with the other students. I would encourage other students to apply for such a wonderful opportunity.”
Davis and her colleagues’ experience during the IMA Leadership Experience program is currently featured in Strategic Finance Magazine’s August issue.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
