Nicole HarrisNicole Harris

I am majoring in HRM and hope to graduate in Summer 2021.  I work full-time as the HR Recruiter for a small GovCon business here in Huntsville.  Brief background about me.  I am originally from a small suburb in Chicago, IL.  I recently got out of the military, where I served six years as an Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator.  I traveled the world and served my country.  Which were some of the best and scariest years of my life.  During that time, I met my husband, Chris and we have been married for six years! We have two fur babies Goku and ChiChi.  I am proud to be a part of the Athens State SHRM organization, and if you ever need anything, please reach out!

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this chapter and it has allowed me to grow tremendously through conferences, speakers, and contacts. I am a Certified Professional through SHRM as of July 2020 and I am so thankful for Athens State University for making it possible for students to participate in the exam before graduation! I am happily married to my best friend and I have a 12 (almost 13) year old daughter as well as a 4-month-old foster son. I work full time as the HR Coordinator for Huntsville Utilities. I plan to graduate in December with my double major in HRM and Accounting. I am looking forward to an amazing semester and meeting everyone!

Director of Communications and Social Media

My name is Chasity Shook and I am the Director of Communications and Social Media for the SHRM Student Chapter at Athens State University. I am currently working on my second degree, majoring in Human Resources Management, and am also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, “Sigma Alpha Pi “. Currently, my profession is a Paralegal at a prestigious law firm located in Decatur, Alabama, and I am the mother of two sweet, football-loving little boys. Additionally, my future goals include obtaining a Ph.D./Doctorate degree and advocating for reform for children’s protection services and education opportunities. I enjoy reading, outdoor activities with my family and helping others as much as possible. I am so grateful to be a part of SHRM as it has expanded upon networking and outreach opportunities and also provided a plethora of motivational tools to use for success. If you have any questions or you are interested in joining, please feel free to reach out!
